In the spirit of transparent pricing, Orthodontic Specalists will provide any potential patient a general estimate of their fees before an in-office consultation!
If you are eager to learn more about how we design care specifically for each patient, contact us (by phone, text or email) for an in-office consultation. At your initial visit, our doctors will review your complimentary photographs and x-rays, complete a clinical examination, develop treatment options specific to your desires and needs, and direct our treatment coordinators to review fee information and payment options with you.
The investment necessary in any level of orthodontic treatment depends upon multiple factors: the patient’s/family’s desires, the complexity of the case, the patient’s age, the type of appliances chosen by the patient, and the anticipated treatment duration. Below find more information regarding pricing in our offices.
Drs. Michael and Emily Koufos can design a treatment plan specifically for you that best matches your desires.

The goal of this plan is to manage every aspect of the mouth to achieve optimal facial balance, jaw function (TMJs), dental appearance, gum health, and dental health, hence the name “comprehensive.” Every tooth will be positioned in that effort.
Improving bite relationships in growing patients offers more choices for correction than in adult patients due to the ability to modify growth with orthodontic treatment.
After orthodontic treatment is completed, retainers are provided for patients to preserve the outcome of treatment. Retainers work best when worn part-time for as long as you desire to preserve your excellent orthodontic results! Teeth are an adjustable system of our body and are subject to the changes related to our lifestyles and the changes aging imposes upon our bodies.
For patients who have an interest in improving only their front teeth alignment, limited treatment is an option. Limited treatment maintains the existing bite relationships while improving the alignment of the front teeth. Limited treatment times can range from a few months to a year.
Whenever possible, limited treatment will be offered as a choice.
On occasion, previous orthodontic patients will inform us their teeth are no longer straight since they stopped wearing their retainers. They are hoping for a simple solution to “touch up” their tooth alignment. Limited treatment is ideal for these patients.
If a person stops wearing retainers, changes to the teeth are inevitable due to lifestyle choices, wear of teeth, and aging. Increasing crowding of the lower/upper front teeth is common when retainers are discontinued. The ability to “tune up” the alignment with limited treatment depends on several factors. To answer this question with accuracy, we will digitally simulate the specific tooth movements for someone to determine if limited treatment can be successful.
At Orthodontic Specialists, limited treatment is almost exclusively performed with Invisalign appliances. This technique allows us to control which teeth move and which teeth do not. In this way, only the problematic teeth and/or a few adjacent teeth are corrected. In contrast, all teeth that have braces on them will move and may complicate the desired correction additionally.
It is important for the patient and the doctor to share a clear understanding of goals by simulating the outcome generated when only a few teeth are changed.
When considering orthodontic treatment as a potential patient, it is crucial to recognize the significance of selecting an orthodontist certified by the AAO. Orthodontic specialists undergo an extra two years of training beyond what is mandated for dentists! By opting for an AAO-certified orthodontist, you can ensure receiving the utmost personalized care.
At Orthodontic Specialists, what sets us apart is not just the wide range of tools available in our orthodontic offices, but rather the expertise of our Doctors in diagnosing your case. Diagnosing is the most challenging aspect of orthodontics, as it requires the experience and expertise to determine how and when to take action. With over 15,000 successful patient treatments, we are confident in our ability to find the perfect orthodontic solution for you.
Whether it’s braces or Invisalign, the most common treatment is our comprehensive treatment plan (both upper and lower teeth), which can cost between $5,100 and $7,600. However, we also offer options for minor corrections that range between $2,800 and $5,400, depending on your specific needs. Rest assured, there are no hidden fees with any treatment plan you choose. Our prices cover everything from the initial x-rays to the final photographs, as well as a set of retainers and any necessary follow-up appointments.
There is no set average treatment cost as each treatment is tailored to the individual. That means the price will depend on the goals of treatment, which our patients help to define with our Doctors during their initial consultation.

Yes, of course you can! However, it is essential to consult a specialized orthodontist who can shed light on the advantages and disadvantages of this decision. Seeking advice from an orthodontist certified by the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) will not only guide you in your decision but also offer insights on correcting your bite as a whole. This comprehensive approach aims to prevent additional problems and expenses that may arise from focusing solely on straightening the front teeth.
This is an important question to ask because the fee structures can vary among different orthodontist offices. At Orthodontic Specialists, our fee includes everything– we do not add additional charges for retainers, special appointment times, x-rays, digital records, or post-treatment appointments. We even continue to monitor your progress while wearing your retainers during your two-year, post-treatment observation period! This uncompromising commitment to care sets us apart in the industry and guarantees that you have a comprehensive understanding of the treatment’s total cost upfront!
Our top priority is ensuring that you receive the greatest advantages from an efficient treatment plan! Choosing the right plan becomes even easier when it seamlessly aligns with your lifestyle. As a Premier Provider of Invisalign, our Doctors can often provide teenage patients with Invisalign treatment at the same expense as traditional braces. For many patients, this can turn your treatment experience into the ultimate smile experience! With Invisalign, there are fewer in-office visits, and, when worn as prescribed, your treatment time is known to be faster too.
We can test the Invisalign process out for your teen before commiting to Invisalign treatment. We will make a set of “test aligners” for your child to tryout for two weeks prior to make a final decsion. In this way, your teen will have a clear idea of what to expect and can make the best choice for them.
Yes! We are committed to ensuring that everyone can afford a beautiful smile to enhance their self-image. To make it more convenient for our patients, we provide a monthly payment plan with 0% interest, though we do require an initial down payment to begin treatment. Our treatment coordinators can help you with the financial details. We also offer Care Credit to help you with your payment plans. For those who are able to pay for their treatment in full, you will be eligible for a 5% discount. Additionally, we offer discounted rates for multiple family members so that everyone can benefit from our services.
This question requires a little research for each family by our office. Some dental insurances will pay a single lifetime benefit towards orthodontic braces or Invisalign for each child or family member covered whether the orthodontist is “in” or “out of network”. It’s important to note that insurance plans vary, but our team is happy to verify the specifics of your orthodontic benefit. We also accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) insurance benefits to help defray the cost of braces.
You may be aware of companies (called “DIY” for do it yourself) that mail aligners to your home without an in-office visit with a doctor. You may have also heard some unfortunate stories, blog articles, or watched YouTube videos describing negative consequences of “DIY” types of orthodontic treatment. For example, if only upper teeth are moved, overbite may increase. Further, if only the lower teeth are moved, the bite relationships may be altered so that only front teeth touch on closure. This is why it’s important to trust your smile to a specialist!
